That’s My Farmer SNAP Incentive Program
Oregon is among the top five state for hunger.Half a million Oregonians are food insecure – eating less, skipping meals, or going without food for whole days. It is widely recognized that low-income communities are disproportionately susceptible to chronic, diet-related diseases because access to fresh, nutritious food is inhibited by cost. Federal food assistance often falls short of making healthful food accessible to low-income families. The That’s My Farmer SNAP Incentive Program helps stretch those dollars.
Watch our 2-minute introduction video here.
We partner with farmers’ markets in Benton, Lincoln, and Linn counties to offer customers with SNAP Benefits (formerly known as food stamps) added buying power when they purchase food from the farmers in our community. Every time a customer spends at least $6 at a participating farmers’ market using his/her Oregon Trail card, they receive an extra $6 in farmers’ market tokens in order to purchase healthy, local food and support our family farmer economy.
