Oregon Hazelnut Country: The Food, the Drink, The Spirit

The biggest drawback to reviewing a cookbook, is the appetite it stimulates. With just-introduced Oregon Hazelnut Country by Jan Roberts-Dominguez, it starts with the cover. Most of the hazelnuts there are still in their tidy auburn shells, but a few shelled ones peek out at the top, hinting at delectable pairings with all the other local delights sharing the space: fresh figs, grapes, raspberries, apples, pears for a dessert-first feast.

Sunbow Farm Bridges Markets, Hosts Innovation

We may be between the end of the summer markets and the start of the winter market, but that doesn’t mean fresh vegetables (delivered, even) are in hibernation. Carla Wise recently profiled Corvallis Local Foods, reminding us that foods can be ordered and delivered weekly year-round.

Corvallis Local Foods Reaches One-Year Anniversary

Meet Rebecka Weinsteiger
Rebecka, a native of Pennsylvania and graduate of OSU, is involved in natural food education and outreach,  developing curricula that emphasize sustainable food choices and local food security.
