Saturday, March 17th from 9am to 11am Ten Rivers Food Web and Corvallis congregations are hosting a St. Patrick’s Day benefit pancake breakfast at the First United Methodist Church. Come fill your belly with fluffy pancakes and homemade sausage made from local ingredients, enjoy live music, and meet local farmers.

Join us on Sundays in January and February for a “Foodies” Film Series featuring movies about food, farming, fisheries, nutrition and environmental issues. The series is co-hosted by Ten Rivers Food Web and Food Share of Lincoln County, along with the Oregon Coastal Zone Management Association. Films will begin at 1:30 pm, and seating is limited, so come early! Screenings will be held at the Oregon Coast Community College, Central Campus Room 62, located at 400 SE College Way in Newport.

Ten Rivers Food Web and Slow food Corvallis present the third annual Terra Madre Day event on Saturday, December 10th, 2011. Please join us for this holiday food fair celebrating and supporting local producers. Proceeds will benefit Slow Food’s “1,000 Gardens in Africa” initiative and Ten Rivers Food Web’s That’s My Farmer SNAP Incentive Program. On Saturday, November 12th 2011 the second annual Fill Your Pantry Market will be held at the former Methodist Church in Shedd, OR. You can purchase bulk quantities of staples directly from farmers: grains, flour, beans, frozen meats, honey, cured produce (garlic, onions, potatoes, root crops) and more. This event is sponsored by Willamette Seed & Grain and Ten Rivers Food Web.
What sets this market apart from a farmers’ market is the fact it’s an annual event and you are encouraged to purchase the quantity you would need for a year. In fact, you must pre-order anything over 100 pounds – and you are encouraged to pre-order smaller amounts since supplies are limited. See list of farms and products at the end of this article.
